Personal Time Saturday School
As we diligently work to increase student attendance and student instruction time, Florence High School will now implement Personal Time Saturday School.
What is Personal Time Saturday School (PTS)?
Personal Time Saturday is a program that allows students who have FX-ed or will FX (Failing due to excessive, unexused absences) a class due to excessive, unexcused absences to clear that FX to pass or receive credit for that class.
How many unexcused absences cause a student to FX a class?
The following rules from the Student Handbook indicate the number of unexcused absences a student may incur before FXing a class: The high school may deny credit for a semester if the number of unexcused absences in any given class exceeds 10. In the event that credit is denied, the principal will grant a hearing if one is requested.
How many Personal Time Saturdays does a student have to attend to clear an FX?
Each successfully completed PTS equals four class period absences that can be converted from unexcused to excused absences.
